What did you do to your Monte Carlo today?

Winter makes us appreciate the Spring/Summer that much more.  LA without any seasons takes the weather for granted nothing gets done.  For the rest of us off the frame, it is bonding time in the garage. When were not waiting on parts!

Well the last cruise is in the books 🙃 Beautiful day in the 70's, now time to fog, put up on jackstands and throw the cover on it 🙃

The tranquility of a great day and an adult beverage was interrupted when I saw a calf on the wrong side of the fence 😦 but wrangled it back home so still a good day

So has anybody else been driving and made a mental note of something the wanted to address but it never made the to do list? 

So today I was repositioning the Monte for fog and jack stands and looking in the rear view said damn that thing won't stay in place. I also said it yesterday on the final cruise but I'll blame the wayward calf for interrupting my thoughts 🤣

Anyway tightened the screw up today 🤘Progress no matter how small is still progress 🤣

Pictures of the front grill on the 71 as it was when I got it, and two changes to it including the last one which I completed this evening.. Blackened grill .

Ron, with such a beautiful car, and it being White, The Black grill looks as though it should have come from the factory that way. Also like Steve's, the Black grill complements the Blue tremendously so !!!

After the engine swap I took the grill off before we put the hood back on. From 20' it looked cool but that only lasted a day🤣

I like the look Ron , worth the hit in modifications

Well the forecast says today and tomorrow are the last days its gonna get above 60 for the next 10 days so I put the Monte in hibernation 🙃

The front end looked like I was trying for a gasser look 🤣 I'll have to enjoy the blue oval this winter 🤣

I love all the NASCAR stuff. My garage is lined with NASCAR/racing stuff as well. Being a Harry Gant fan I noticed all the Skoal banners.

I too noticed the Harry Gant banner. My wife Ann and myself used to work for RJ Reynolds sports marketing. We attended all of the races and had no limits. That was before smoking became taboo 😂 We also had to oversee 17 IHRA Events . On behalf of RJ Reynolds.

Surprised you guys didnt pick up on the Skoal hood in the corner 🤣 Underneath that is a Conseco hood from when AJ Foyt owned the 14 team. And yes they are real hoods. Back before nascar became "entertainment" over racing, I quote Richard petty on that 🤣 I have a big Winston Cup Series banner hanging from the big garage door 😁

I meant 10k Ohm 1/2 Watt resistor.

Well started up the Monte today and going to get it ready for me to get my checklist out of things I’m  wanting to do to the Monte this  winter lol sad times but this year has been a blast driving the Monte around can’t wait till next year 🙂

Trying to convince myself that there will still be some warm days in SW Ohio this year...resisting the urge to put the trickle charger on in the battery, give her one final dusting, and wrap her in a cover for hibernation...

There are going to be several days before it's to late that make one wish they hadn't put our toys away yet.....

But when it does come, we'll be glad we did.
