420ponies Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 Well, today I got the front coilover shocks installed. Waiting on Billet sway bar brackets, and then the front crossbar from UMI will be the finishing touch to the suspension. Next is the transformation to a Custom "Clone". Custom badges and the wide belt moulding with new weatherstrips from Leo Konink. Finally coming together! .The Sniper 2 kit is going in after the 2 big car shows this coming year ,so I'll be 750 vac. secondary for next summer. Holley has there Christmas sale going on now, and I caught a deal on the sniper 2 kit (with some upgrades). 9 Quote
Stuckin70s Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 (edited) I got a whole 2 hours in yesterday. I caved, stripped the firewall inside. Wire wheeled the insulation glue off getting ready sound deadening so I can put the heater/AC box back in Edited December 31, 2024 by Stuckin70s 7 Quote
McCall72 Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Put the old gal up on the lift today and identified where a couple of bothersome rattles were coming from... Oh yeah, a few months ago I dropped a Blueprint 350 in her that dynoed at 409 HP so she's a lot of fun to drive nowadays! Quote
Scott S. Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 The infamously never to be answered question...... Honey, does my a** look fat on this lift ??? 5 Quote

Leghome Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 ran my finger along the front fender and collected a bountyful finger of sawdust 6 Quote
Stuckin70s Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Hello McCall72, how much head room do you have under the car when it is elevated. I been thinking about storing on a similar lift so I have the garage floor space in the winter? Thank you, Brad 1 Quote
SPLATT71MC Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Finally checked the fit on the new wheels and tires. I have room to spare. 275/40/18 on 18x9.5 5.75 BS. 4 Quote
Michael Boyte Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Very nice, good looking wheel/ tire combination !! And no clearance issues, what more could you ask for. 2 Quote

Stuckin70s Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 You folks have inspired me... Since the firewall was stripped. How about a little more rust removal and pretty up the brake pedal/master cylinder mount. 6 Quote
Michael Boyte Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 That certainly turned out nice 👍 !! Keep up the good work my friend 👍 1 Quote
cny first gen 71 Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 It's the annual new Years day running of the wrecks a day early because looks like rain then snow tomorrow. Snowblower is all ready for whatever comes and started and car car for a bit and even the lawn mower too as it's so nice out today. I know no pictures didn't happen so here it is. Car wants to go for a ride but way to much salt on roads, everything but snowblower is put back for the rest of its winter rest. Happy new year to all. 10 Quote
Michael Boyte Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Looking good Steve, I would say that you are well prepared for what lies ahead. 3 Quote

Happy new year to all Nope, not happening here either ( driving the Monte). There's so much salt down, I have a row if it in middle of each lane on my road!! You're going to get some nasty stuff up there until Sunday I see. We're getting a dusting they say. I hate these Lows right over us, never know what can happen. Oh, have you seen the temps yet for January? Get ready, it's going to be cold! Like Minnesota cold. Just don't shoot the messenger!🙂 6 Quote
Canuck Posted January 5 Author Posted January 5 I just wanted to show everyone that I have made zero progress on the 71 SS LOL. I had a bad cold starting the second week of December that lasted weeks and then had to play catch-up at work so no progress was made on the car. I hope to make some progress this month. Hopefully have the engine cleaned and painted by next weekend then start reassembly. It’s possible I’ll be putting this car up for sale if I pick up another car I’m looking at next week. If I knew I was going to sell this quickly I probably would not have taken it apart since nothing was wrong with it. I just wanted to do some detail work. I guess the buyer will get a freshly detailed engine bay and a bunch of new parts. 🙂 9 Quote
Dtret Posted January 5 Posted January 5 It won’t hurt the sale. So it’s a good thing. Actually looked pretty good before you took it down. 5 Quote
Michael Boyte Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Aaron, it's only going to make it that much more desirable !!! I know I would certainly appreciate all of that hard work having already been done 👍 . 5 Quote
Canuck Posted January 5 Author Posted January 5 I have always put extra into cars I sell that doesn’t always translate to extra money on the sale but it does make sure the buyer gets a good product. I like people to drive away happy. 9 Quote
