What did you do to your Monte Carlo today?

Recommended Posts

The weather was perfect today to attend a car show 2 hours away. The Monte ran great and I stopped at a British American Dealer and snapped a couple of photos. She's all cleaned up and tucked back in the garage awaiting my car show next Saturday.

The car looks beautiful. Great picture setting

I know I felt bad as well, why did it take a full week since getting the car before I got that back on.... its out of the norm for me, it should have been on before night fall the same day.... hahaha

Put the wheels and tires back on the rear of the 72 and rolled the car back to make room for this 12106907_1045148655520107_91587704319623 finally got around to picking up the motor. Started breaking it down so it can be clean. The under side of the valve covers look good for a 30k mile motor.

Loked at the car on the way out through the garage in the cold pouring rain, and thought its winding down again this year, before too long it will be under cover again. Started making a winter list though, that's the only bright side! Depending on when they start spreading salt and brine here, I've been able to drive into December, or off the road before Halloween. Keep your fingers crossed gang!

Decided today to tackle my body mount bushings, spent 3 1/2 hrs and got one side completed wasn't to bad everything came out easy. The hardest part was taking the front inner fender out and putting it back in. I reused all the original hardware as it was in great shape. Here is a pic of the bolts and they were all in this condition. I guess I will get at the other side next weekend.

My buddy GTO George and I put on the Car Show portion of the Fall Festival here yesterday. The weather was cool and windy but no rain. We had 100 cars come out. I slept like a rock last night. LOL Here`s a couple of pics...

Had a Memorial Service to attend today and it was requested that those who owned Classic Autos to please drive them.  The memorial was for a friend who lived and breathed Classic cars.  The day turned out gorgeous and got the Monte out and drove to the Memorial.  Met my Father and Brother there as they had driven their cars as well.  I thought this event would be a good opportunity to get a pic of all 3 cars together in one place.  So my brothers wife said she would get a picture of all 3 of us standing by our cars.  Hey!  No pic's, it didn't happen!

Finished up the drivers side body mounts, had no trouble with the bolts all came out easy. Soon I will have all my winter projects done before it gets here. Coil springs and control arm bushings next weekend.

Got a three day weekend and finally got the pulley and balancer off the motor, even gave the motor a coat of paint so it looks like it belongs in the car. 12088584_1048183695216603_1377783435830112096488_1048183718549934_33341386713578

Got the digital radio in the other day and it's bigger then the stock opening so had to trim 12144945_1048183758549930_37580042871704 yes the radio towers are broken but we found a fix.

Took advantage of a gorgeous Indian summer day by dusting off the Monte and taking my wife out for a photo session of fall colors before they are gone.  The Monte's Autumn Gold paint seems to blend right in with the scenery whether out in the country or in town.
