farmall
I put my impact wrench on lowest setting and then use torque wrench to 100. I just made that number up, thinking it would be about right.
GatorDog72
I put my impact wrench on lowest setting and then use torque wrench to 100. I just made that number up, thinking it would be about right. When I worked in a repair shop, that's pretty much how we did it. We used torque sticks on the impact to make sure the lugs aren't over-tight, then hand torqued to spec. Cars with 5 lugs got torqued to 100lbs. Small SUV's and vans were 120lbs, and trucks got 150lbs. Do not put oil or silicone spray on the lugs, it will skew the torque reading. Regular grade Never-Seez works awesome. Aluminum wheels MUST be re-torqued after 20-50 miles, they will loosen up on you.
