Guest Posted October 25, 2003 Share Posted October 25, 2003 Did you check the fuse? I just got done replacing my switch as it kept blowing fuses and was getting hard to move. I would get a test light and make sure you are getting voltage to your heater fan when you have the switch on. ------------------ <IMG SRC=\"http://... Guest Posted October 25, 2003 Share Posted October 25, 2003 what do you mean specifically? fan not working? fuse, seized blower motor, wire pulled off? no heat with air? need vacuum to swing door in suitcase to allow heat as apposed to ac. vacuum leak or hose off best bet. Guest Posted October 25, 2003 Share Posted October 25, 2003 That is the one thing about my 70 that works very well, maybe a bit too well, cant leave it on high for more than five minutes after the car is warmed up or you will get roasted, my son suggested we cook the turkey in my car this year If the blower is blowing then the vacuum line or actuator would be your best bet, if the heater control valve is stiff sometimes the cable can push through the lever in the control panel and it still seems like the lever is working but the cable isnt able to move to open or close the valve. ====================================================== Hey, another night owl o.k. no blower, so it has to be a fuse, blower switch or blower motor failure or loose connection, check the fuse box first. ====================================================== ------------------ Always wear your seatbelt! Guest Posted October 25, 2003 Share Posted October 25, 2003 If you know were your fuse blocks is, the heater fuse is the top one and it is a 20 amp fuse. Buy a cheap test light and then check both side of the fuse if you can not tell by looking at it. Then poke one of the wires going to the heater fan that is located on the passenger side fire wall bellow the heater/AC box. ------------------ <IMG SRC=\"http://... wallaby Posted October 26, 2003 Share Posted October 26, 2003 Good advice so far, but the hi-speed blower uses a different power source and fuse. I'm not sure if the blower wiring is different between A/C and non-A/C cars. The blower might have some leaves in it keeping it from turning even. You should be able to feel heat coming thru even without the blower running. If you have a heater control valve connected to the heater hoses between the firewall and engine, then having it in the "off" position all summer can cause sediment to collect in the bottom of the heater core. Pull a heater hose off at the engine, and use a garden hose to verify that water will flow through. The door to control heat temperature is cable opperated.
