Guest Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 Has anyone removed the factory A/C set-up and replaced it with the delete box that is listed on eBay? If so, is it a difficult job, and what problems may I run into? I do not fully understand the workings of the A/C defrost set-up in these cars. I have been told that the defroster will not work if the A/C is disconnected and the heater box not changed. I am looking for advise and comments. Thanx
Guest Posted February 24, 2003 Posted February 24, 2003 You have to leave all heater wiring in the car. This includes the 2 items screwed to the outside of the under hood AC box. Reinstall them to the delete box. Leave the 2 vaccume lines in place.
Guest Posted February 28, 2003 Posted February 28, 2003 You can leave the old box in place, and everything will work just fine. However, why remove the A/C if you aren't going to get rid of that big ugly box. Also it's a good idea to take it apart anyway just to clean out the stuff that is probably stuck in the evaporator. Mine was clogged with several handfuls of leaves and "stuff"
