monte70car
Has anyone used the UMI Performance rear shock tower? Going to pick one up for the 70. I have already upgraded the rear suspension with UMI's upper, lower and support arms last summer. The rest of the rear suspension is Hotchiks lowering springs and KYB gas shocks, car is just a street cruiser.
Paul Bell
Did you do this? I'm also considering.
monte70car
Hi Paul yes I added the rear sock tower brace. Since the rear suspension has been done the car hasn't seen any street time. What the brace does or so I was told it is to keep the rear shock towers from pulling towards each other in high G's. It was a pain to get in due to the bar sliding on top of the shock towers and against the body of the car. It came with bigger bolts but I used my stock shock bolts even though it took time to get them back in place.
Paul Bell
Sounds difficult. I'm down for that!
FASTSS454
Unless your shocks are load bearing like a coil over I see no advantage in adding the brace.
