We are returning to Penticton for the 2019 Western Meet. This is a spectacular 3-day event with car show with 850 cars, wine cruise, collector car auction, parade, live entertainment, farmers market etc. The event is held in the middle of BC wine country with large lakes, beaches and beautiful scenery. This event will provide us with special parking for our club in the park by the beach and they have added a Monte Carlo class for awards (1st and 2nd prize)! The last two meets in Penticton had 25+ members in attendance

Weekend Schedule
Thursday:
Morning/afternoon local cruise with stops at points of interest (10am - 3pm)

Friday:
Wine cruise through the Okanagan Valley (9am - 3pm)
Beach to Peach parade (5pm)
Car show on the beach of Okanagan Lake (afternoon/evening)

Saturday:
Car show on the beach of Okanagan Lake
Collector car auction
Farmers market
Ladies walk & shop

Sunday:
Car show on the beach of Okanagan Lake
Event trophies/prizes ceremony (11am-2pm)
FGMCC banquet dinner with awards and prizes (4:30-6:30)

And of course, every night is a party at the Rosedale Motel!

You must pre-register as this event will sell out

DO NOT request VIP parking since our club will have its own area to park in.
Make sure to put "FGMCC" in the car club line.
Note that there is a "FG Monte Carlo" class for the awards

US citizens travelling to Canada
It is recommended to have a valid passport to cross the border as it makes it easier but check the CBSA and CBP web sites for details of other valid documents.

Sounds like fun but that date of 2017 is in the past......    Sorry Aaron couldn't help myself.  I noticed this while I was pulling info off your post for the next newsletter.  Please let me know if the days of the 20th through the 23rd is correct because I did use those days figuring you only made a mistake on the year.

We're over 20 members now and we have nearly the entire hotel. This is going to be one heck of a party!

Just got an email saying registration open for the meet.

 

We are registered for the meet under the FGMCC category.

Am now officially Registered & Room booked for the event.  

They were right saying how Internet Explorer does not work well for this On-Line Registration.  I tried 4 times and kept asking me to provide info for 2nd Car (which I don't have) 

So changed to Firefox and it was a SNAP.......................

Peach City Beach Cruise registration has only been open for a week and they already have 210 cars pre-registered of the total 850 spots!

Now 260 cars registered of the 850 spots. I'd recommend you get registered before the end of December.

Got confirmation email yesterday and I have the same car number as the last show here.  #70.

8 months until the Western Meet. Get your room booked if you have not done so yet. You can also register your car for the Peach City Beach Cruise.

Very nice shot of the valley Aaron.  Such a picturesque place.  Looking forward to it more each time I check on this.

Darren, I wonder if a 72 Monte got #72.  That would be kind of neat for the 3 of us to be side by side in the show.

You don't have that car you had at the last show anymore?  The all original one except for 1 fan belt and the tires?

I just received this update last night. Already 370 cars registered of the total 850 spaces for the Peach City Beach Cruise.

Already more than half of the 850 spots at Peach City Beach Cruise are full. If you plan to have your car in the show I suggest you register as soon as you can.

Also get your hotel booked if you have not already done so as rooms are limited in the area. If you can't get a room let me know and I will see if I can find one for you near the official hotel.

We will have a great variety of Monte Carlos at this meet. Works in progress, a convertible, LS conversions, an 11,000 mile original, 4-speeds, SS454s, 72 Customs, and many other great rides.
