MC1of80
Hey Jerry. I'm sorry, I read your dm to me and I haven't responded. 😞 I still haven't decided what to do about it yet. It still seems to be leaking slightly. I will keep you in mind if I swap it out. Sorry to hear about your damaged radiator.

McCall72
After seeing the turbines on yours I decided to try them out on mine. Nice option when you want a different look for a bit!
Dtret
I like the turbine look. Different yet still really cool. Nice job
MC1of80
Nice Monte. I agree, they look good. I don't like the look with white letters. I feel a whitewall or redline would look better with the PO2 hubcaps. I love the look of Rally's with white letters.
Dtret
Ya I’ll agree with that
MC1of80
This weekends progress between other projects. Lolol The 12 bolt is just about ready for installation into "Big Red" my 70 SS. Have to install the upper bushings for the control arms and install. Maybe this weekend ... 🤔

MC1of80
Well the original rear end, numbers on the axle tube for my 70 SS is all ready to be installed. Finished it up today. Now, when to install it so the identical rear, not numbers matching can then be installed into "barn find" . Lolol Decided to do a quick polish to the rear bumper. It looked horrible and wouldn't clean up with a brillo. If you zoom in you can see the b4 and after. Right side is after. Lolol. The bumper is still shot but looks better. Lol

Lol Installed the wheel opening mouldings. Used 2 nos mouldings that were tweaked and small dents that we had in stock. While at it we decided to install the PO2 hubcaps on one side to see what she looked like new. I don't think I like the hubcaps with white lettered tires. They need a white wall or redline. What do you all think?? I think both look great!
Leghome
I really like the hubcaps on your car
MC1of80
Hi everyone! Finally took "Big Red" out of hybernation. Shame on me. Today's endeavor was to remove the 12 bolt rear from "Big Red" to install an identical 12 bolt, the original, numbers matching rear that came with her. Now, the 12 bolt that came out is going to go into "Barn Find". Barn finds original rear was removed a long time ago for unknown reasons. This is where it gets amazing, astounding, get the F-$k outa here. My brother, the numbers guy, checks the numbers and codes on the rear going into barn find..... It's the correct year, and code for the barn find! Checked the build sheet and had the same code! It was assembled April of 70 and barn find was assembled September of 70 for 71. Imagine the luck on that??? We are dumbfounded also. Ya never know.

714024SPEED
Had some time today while my brother and his son are off on a road trip for other Monte related business. Took the rear that came out of Big red that turned out to be correct for barn find and cleaned and painted it getting it ready to put in Barn find.

Dtret
To be fair their not really “in stock “ until their actually in stock. I know semantics but what the heck

MC1of80
Hello everyone. Today we swapped rears in the "Barn Find" from the 10 bolt that was not factory installed to the 12 bolt from "Big Red" that turns out to be gear code and date code correct for Barn Find. Â Also installed the rear GM gas charged shocks, painted grey, from the Ground Up kit they sell and new emergency brake cables due to the 10 bolts being siezed. Those were in stock 6yrs. Lol
