Another Tachometer Question

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ran into this problem? I noticed today that when I went to work this morning my tach worked like normal. I parked the car in total sunshine. I started it to come home and the tach didn't work. I pulled I the garage and let the car cool off, then started it and the tach was back to working. This has happen before as I only drive it on nice days. Has anyone ever heard of something like this?

Hey Paul, that never happened to me with the tach. But my amp gauge was pointing straight down, and when i finally started her, amp gauge pointed straight up where it belongs. Freaky

Willie, I can't figure out if the printed circuit gets heated up or the tach. I was thinking I had a wiring problem but I'm thinking the tach or printed circuit. As the weather gets cooler I will see if the problem goes away or I will buy one of those sun deflectors for the windshield and see if the tach works. It's always something with these old cars.

Mine in my 71 just randomly comes to life, I changed the terminal on the coil to no avail... I'm gonna pay attention to this thread, it's most likely the printed circuit board
