Crap just got real.

Its ready.  Thanks Kevin for the help over the last several weeks.

His 70 c10 truck will be ready for paint soon too. We've been alternating days at each other's place . My goal was paint by may 1st. Its getting it this weekend 🤪

The paint job made simple:

Blast or strip, epoxy, bodywork, more epoxy,  2k, block 320, fix booboos, more 2k on booboos, paint jambs, sand booboos 320, assembly,  panel alignment, . Fix last minute booboos (pin holes, etc) Mask it, continue to look for booboos, wipe it down, tach cloth, epoxy sealer. Basecoat , Clear Coat

Thanks everyone.

This is my setup

Big barrel fan.. Compressor with a wall mount filter and water trap..Simple but works.

Windows open. With a screen, keeps bugs out. My $300 Fan flows a lot of air.

Wet the floor and let's roll!

SPI Black Basecoat $175ish a gallon with SPI Slow Reducer $45ish gallon

If you have never heard of SPI or Tamco I SUGGEST LOOK EM UP ASAP. Quit paying for race car sponsorships!

No other fillers. True Black, All Black! 1:1 Slow Reducer.  1 cap full of Clear Activator!

The SPI 2k High Build is $180ish a kit 4:1 mix just Fyi

Great job Jared! Car is really progressing! Hopefully I can get going on the 70 SS 454 you sold me a few years ago. This gives me inspiration to get started on mine. Two thumbs up!!!!

Thanks. Basically this car is what the one I sold you was supposed to be!  Black with red interior.  With a garbage garage paint job lol

After 3M Runbing Compound on a foam pad.

Then 3M polish on a foam pad.

Once I get the car together I will do some more paint correction with my dual action polisher.

Still a lot of work to do but we are on the downhill slope!

Car is looking good Jared

It looks like your gauge cluster lens could use a good polishing to really make it pop.

What does one use to polish the plastic on the gauge cluster?

This is what the entire build was based on... RED INTERIOR

Done in 1970 chevelle Red Color in 1970 Monte Carlo Pattern. Door Panels were a special order.

Seat covers were hand sewn so much better than covers, plumped up with definition unlike cheap covers and the bolstered foam kit.
