Intake options?

Hey Ronnie. 

Small block or big block? Intended use of the car? 

On my 496 in my 70 SS I  use an Edelbrock rpm air gap intake. 

Works great on the street and extremely well at the track.

What carburetor will you be using? You'll need a square bore or a spread bore intake. 

I'm using a Quadrajet, and I have an Edelbrock Performer.

Your painted intake looks amazing! What camshaft are you running?

Very nice Dan! My car came with an Edelbrock 600CFM so I'll be replacing it. I'm looking for the right carburetor. I would like to do a Quadrajet since that's what came on the cars back then. I want a good street/mild strip performance. What would you recommend?

Hey Ronnie, 

Thanks. I wanted a low maintenance finish and a stock look. All but the trained eye will notice the modifications.

The cam is an old school solid flat tappet Howards cam. 252/260@.050  618/640 on a 108 center line. 3000-6800 range.

A good rebuild on a correct era Quadrajet is what I like, but I don't race. That's the only reason I didn't get the RPM intake. 

I have a little fun with my roller cam and 461" big block.
