Is anyone bringing a table? Tony usually has one with him but can't make it, bummer going to miss him and the family. I can bring one. Just thinking for snacks or games or whatever. May be easier for you too Rob at club tent to hand out stuff.

Steve,

It is said "Great minds think alike". I guess it is true.  I have already asked my Carlisle contact about getting a table for the club canopy.

Great Rob, I will bring one too so we have one for the hotel parking lot,  I just may bring some snacks to munch on later on. And I do remember a spirited game of left right center a couple years ago.

Good Evening Monte Peoples,

Things are moving fast all of a sudden.  I have a lot of information to share but first of all is a continuation of the Countdown:

The countdown continues.  ONLY 12 Days and A Wake-up Till  people arriving on Wednesday will be arriving In Carlisle For The 2020 Eastern Meet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Pretty soon we will be in the single digits.....YAHOOO!!!!

Question from a member:  QUESTION:  Are you allowed to bring items for potential sale or bartering amongst Club members?  ANSWER:  I would suggest you try to handle any sale of items at the hotel.  Carlisle Events does not allow For Sale signs on any cars or parts on the Show Field, only in the Vendor Area.  Vendors pay Carlisle Events for a vendor space.  If you bring parts onto the show field you can not put prices or for sale signs on them.   I say that because members will buy parts in the Vendor Area and bring them back to the show filed and lay them next to or under their car.

I have had a few questions on an Itinerary for the meet.  Most of you should have received an email from me with a PRELIMINARY ITINERARY.  A number of things have changed on that itinerary.  I will be giving everyone an updated/final draft of this Itinerary when you check in with me at the Fairfield Inn or Show Field.

The Thursday afternoon Caravan/Parade to honor Medical Workers and Workers at some Senior Care Homes is all set and ready to roll.  I contacted the commishoners at the South Middleton Township and they put me into contact with the gentleman in charge of the Emergency Services of the township.  Ron Hamilton told me he would take the lead on this project since I am not near that area.  Boy did Ron take the lead.  He has called each of the places we will visit, has arranged emergency vechicles to lead or follow our group.  On top of that Ron has arranged for the Pennsylvania State Police to provide us with an escort for the caravan.  We will form up at the hotel and leave the hotel at 2:30.  The caravan should take less than an hour, depending upon traffic.

The time for our Award Dinner is all set.  We will start our buffet line at 5:30.  By the end of our dinner, awards and door prizes, Carlisle Events should have their winners lists posted. I was hoping to see if we could get awards that our members had won brought to our award presentation but since there will be other cars there besides our club members I don't think we will be able to get that done.  What we may be able to do is see if some of our members could go check the winners list to see who won and then come back and get the member's Carlisle Events Dash Card and go and collect the club members Carlisle Awards.  We can discuss this live in Carlisle.

Today I spent a good bit of time trying to get all of the club registration items, door prizes and goody bag items all gathered together and boxed up so it could be loaded into the Monte it was clear that our Grandkids, Patsy and myself would not fit into the car.  With a lot of the items all boxed up I decided to take some of them to UPS and the Post Office to see about shipping them.... WOW it is crazy what just 5 boxes would cost to send to Carlisle, Over $110 for just those few  boxes and that was not even 1/4 of the items.  Patsy said that is crazy, why don't you and I drive them over and drop them off.  The hotel is willing to hold them for us.  So, next Tuesday Patsy and I are heading to Carlisle  to drop most of the things off.  It will fill the back of our GMC Terrain Denali with the seats folded down.

If you have any questions please let me know and I will get them answered as soon as possible

Just a reminder to everyone.  Please bring face coverings, bandanna's or face masks.  I will have some but not enough for everyone.  Masks/facecoverings will be needed when you are around people.

One of our members has notified they can not come.  They had two rooms.  If anyone is at anothe hotel  and wants to move to the Fairfield Inn and claim one of these rooms please notify me ASAP.  These rooms will be on a first come first served basis.

The countdown continues.  It is Saturday June 13th This will be the last day in double digits.  ONLY 10 Days and A Wake-up till people arriving on Wednesday will be arriving In Carlisle For The 2020 Eastern Meet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  After tomorrow we will be in the single digits.....YAHOOO!!!!

We only had one member quesiton come in since yesterday

MEMBER QUESTION:  I am planning to tow my Monte to Carlisle.  Is there a good place to park my truck and trailer near the Fairfield Inn?  We will get there Wednesday afternoon.  ANSWER:  Yes, the Fairfield Inn and Suites hotel has a very large drive way leading to the parking lot  from two directions and there is plenty of room to park your trailer and tow vehicle.

If you have any quesitons please feel free to shoot them to me.

Below is information I sent to peole's email yesterday:

MEMBER QUESTION:  We will be arriving in the morning on Thursday, I see check in availability is 3:00PM.  What are the chances we will be able to check into a room early in the day?     ANSWER:  Since checkout deadline is not until 11:00AM or NOON, I would not count on being able to get into a room in the morning or even early afternoon, I know it does happen on occasion but there are no guarantees of a room being available before 3:00PM.

GATE PASSES:  Update from my Carlisle contact regarding our gate passes.  After yesterday’s question from a member I did get a reply back from Carlisle. The Gate Passes and Carlisle Events Goody Bag redemption letters started going out late last week and early this week.  I know myself and at least 3 other members who have received theirs.  See attached pictures.

AWARD TO BE PRESENTED:  One of the awards that will be given at the meet will be for the “Best Documented” First Gen Monte.  This would be Original sales documents, Original user’s manual, Build Sheets…. (multiple sheets from same car), Dealer New Car Maintenance folder, Original order form, Protecto Plate, maintenance receipts etc., etc., etc.  Bring these with you for when you pick up your registration folder so we can check them over, you do not have to display them on the show field.

WASHING YOUR CAR AT CARLISLE:  One of the things that was not completely firmed up was car washing at the Fairfield Inn and Suites.  I should have a definite answer on this but I feel pretty good that we will have an area where we can wash our cars on Wednesday and Thursday at the Fairfield.  There is also a free car wash station at the Carlisle Events show field just inside the main gate.  You will need your own wash items, they supply the water and the hose, you supply the soap, wash rags, towels and elbow grease.

Please let me know of any question you have and I will try to answer them as soon as I can.

The countdown continues.  It is Monday June 15th.  Yesterday we entered the single digits in our countdown with  ONLY 8 Days and A Wake-up till people arriving on Wednesday will be pulling into Carlisle for the 2020 Eastern Meet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Tomorrow we will be at one week and a wake-up away.  In a couple days we will start watching the 7 day extended weather forecast.....YAHOOO!!!!

QUESTION:  Received pass and etc from Carlisle Events , and I see under #3), the third bullet it states , " You must park in your class Friday and Saturday. There is no club parking. " , I was under the assumption the FCMCC were parking all in one area by club tent etc?   ANSWER:  I can assure you that ALMOST all of the cars in the 70 thru 72 Monte Carlo's will be from our club.  The parking will be by 70-72 Stock, 70-72 Street and 70-72 Modified.  So all of the Stock Class will be parked in a line,  Street in a line together and modified in a line together.  I can't tell you exactly where each class will be but since most of the First Gen Monte's will be members of our club so basicly we will pretty much be together.

Thursday Evening:  It is my hope, time allowing we will try to go to Carlisle Sports Emporium for some Go-Cart Racing.

As always, if you have any questions please drop me an email at rob29ford@aol.com or leave me a private message on the club website.

Saturday Evening June 20th.

Welcome to the longest day of the year.  Speaking of days, the days are getting shorter in length but also our time till the Eastern Meet has gotten shorter too.  We are now down to 3 days and a wake-up till those of us arriving on Wednesday will be arriving in Carlisle.

We have not had any questions from members since yesterday so this will be a short update.

When Patsy and I were there Tuesday night we noticed the pool was not open but I inquired if it would be open by the time we get there.  I got word this morning that they have gotten permission to open it from the health department.  After all, chlorine is a good killer of germs.  This is partly because I started pushing for the pool to be open that they requested permission from the State Health Department to open it and got the approval.

I also learned one of the reasons our rates were reduced by around $30 per day per room was because they are limiting exposure between ourselves and their housekeeping staff.  This is a Marriott directive and not based upon the property.  What this means is your room will be cleaned and disinfected before your stay but during our stay but housekeeping will not be making the beds, vacuuming the rooms or in any way be entering the rooms during our stay.  If you need fresh bedding you can request it and they will provide it to you.  The same with towels.  You can request fresh towels, soap shampoo and other items from the front desk and they will either be given to you or delivered to your room when you are not in it.  I am not positive how they are working the removal of garbage from the rooms but we will work that out.

I suggest if you are concerned about wiping your room down you should bring some disinfecting wipes with you, Patsy and I have started carrying some in our cars for when we go into rest areas, public bathrooms or any other public place we feel we may need them.

As stated before, Carlisle Events will be requiring masks as will the hotel.  In Pennsylvania it is a requirement that masks be worn into businesses and in groups of people.  I know this is an inconvenience but it is only for a few days and we should not let this keep us from having a good time.

I look forward to seeing you all in a few days. And if you have any questions please feel free to shoot them my way.
