Katman
Can someone help me identify what this is and where it goes. I seem to recall it was used under the dash, drivers side. I may be wrong.
jft69z
I think it's for the directional signal flasher. It mounts up above the steering column on the heavy metal bracket directly above the column. I don't have any good pics from my disassembly, sorry. It'll be somewhere above the brake light switch too.
Paul Bell
Joe is correct but I'm not sure what this brace is that it's screwed to.
Leghome
Dimmer switch bracket?
MC1of80
Dimmer switch is on the floor. No brackets. The flasher bracket/holder you have pictures mounts to the brake pedal main bracket.
jft69z
Yep, Tom is right. It's the heavy bracket that's directly over the steering column. Also pokes thru the firewall to mount the power brake booster and is the mounting bracket for the brake /clutch pedal pivot, and the brake light switch. It's also sandwiched between the 2 steering column attachment nuts and the main dash structure. (the picture doesn't show the entire bracket where it keeps going to the other mounting holes). In the added picture, I think it would be the smaller of the 2 holes (circled in yellow)? My car doesn't need the bracket because the American Auto Wire harness mounts the flasher relay on the fuse block.
Katman
Thanks again Monte family. I thought it might be there to secure the flasher from flopping around.
