Dennis she looks great, and coming along.

But if i am not mistaken is that not your basement, how are you getting her out?

The assembled frame fits through the doors as long as I center it perfect and don’t have the center caps on the rims(see previous post 🤪). I have about a 1/4 in on each side. Pain in the butt - ya buts it’s warm

So I got a bunch of small suspension parts cleaned and painted. And I put in the front coil springs. O so much cussing 🤬. At least that’s the hardest part. Gravy from here on out on the suspension assembly. I’ll get it done and pop some pics.

Rear axle bearings and seals went in today now I’m waiting on a brake cable sealing washer (I only ordered one 🤪🤪). Also new front bearings and seals let me put rotors and calipers on waiting on brake hoses and copper gaskets. Pics soon

I am tired of waiting for parts. It’s been a week and a half waiting for a parking brake cable washer(75 cents) and new brake hoses. So I just put it together and I will put the parts on when they show up. I need you all to find anything that I might have missed or have done incorrect for a proper restoration. Your opinion matters give me all you got so I can get it right. DO NOT worry about hurting my feelings I wanna fix it now versus later. Thank you in advance. If you need more pics let me know. It has no brake hoses and one parking brake cable is not connected. Thanks Dennis

Ps I used all original parts if possible so they aren’t as nice as the new parts would look

Looks real nice. Did you have any issues getting the rear shocks in? I couldn't get mine on as they won't extend as far as needed. Mine are Monroe supposed to be a direct replacement.

I had to lift each side of the rear end a little which made me wonder if I put the correct height coils on it. The new coil spring were about 3 inches taller than the old one. With no weight on it everything is out of wack. I actually put a 2x6 across the back frame and put 6 cinder blocks on it just to weigh it down so the shock weren’t fully extended. Took off for pictures

It is looking really amazing.   It is a shame all of that pretty is going to be mostly covered up.  Keep the pictures coming.

Ya I know. A lot of money for pretty just to hide it but it’s worth it

Thanks for the likes but I want the wrongs so I can fix. There is no way I got it right the first time, I don’t know that much about these cars. Side story. Yesterday I sold a wood stove on Facebook for 800 bucks I gave the cash to Karen to put in our savings account, she said keep it and buy parts for the car. WOW.   Can we say Gardner exhaust ???

So look at this god awful piece of crap reproduction battery tray. I think my original is better even with the rust and acid holes. Is anybody else’s any better? Blow it up and look at the edges

This one from AMD looks better, if you can believe the pictures. (They were supposed to have good rear bumpers too, remember?). Looks like good reviews from Amazon customers though.

Next option may be blast & powder coat your original or take a hammer and dolly to the wavy one.

Most expensive option is find a NOS one.

Where did you get your brass air line fittings that go into your leveling valve? I noticed that the stock fittings do not fit the old air lines.

I got a roll of air line from a member here but there was a kink in the middle of it so I couldn’t use it for the main line but I used it for years short lines and I bought an 18 ft roll off eBay for 10 bucks. I got factory gm fittings. 4 from a member, 4 from a dealer in northern Ohio and 3 from a lift company in Michigan. So I have 7 extra to keep “in stock “ ( forum joke lol) and they fit the new line just fine. But the proof of that will be when I pressurize the system.
