Jumped in with both feet, bought both 71 Monte SS’s

Have been looking, not real hard, but knew what I wanted and was eventually going to find the one that I knew was it. I found it, this is the one! And thanks to this site FGMCC, my first visit, I found exactly what I was looking for. A couple of phone calls and I was completing the deal... I then saw the second SS Monte. She appeared rougher but still a 71 SS beauty in my eye. Well I thought one was enough, but I laid awake at nite for 2-3 nights...still thinking of the second one. I just had too, so now I have them both. It will be a very long haul, but hope to be driving one sometime in the near future to one of the club meets.

I’ve always dreamed of having 2 at the same time, but Mama said it’ll never happen. She’s cool with me having more than one car, though. 🤣

Anywho... congrats!!    Can’t wait to see pix... and lots of them.

#1....1971 454SS.....vin #138571K146687......Gold on Saddle.....all matching....motor is in-work by Dickie Stagsdill of Rolla, MO. Experienced professional motor man building back to the factory specs as close as possible. Have a pending date for October this year 2021 for restoration and back to original color code paint at Classic Rides Restoration, Linn, MO. No build sheet found as of yet, on top of gas tank or under back seat. Still hoping to find one when interior comes out.

#2....1971 454SS.....vin #138571K114217 .....green on green......not matching....present 350 locked up.......but has the original 8 track still on board.....last picture will be her new motor, a previous built 454 as yellow as yellow can get.....Block Stamp is CFS109204, block cast # 14015445. Anyone who can shed any light on the CFS and numbers, that would really be great. Her planned future color, (if I live that long), will be a Tangirene Pearl or Sunset Orange Pearl, somewhere in that range. Car is not matching so can add and play I figured.

I hope you all will bear with me as this (these) project moves along, You guys have probably forgotten more than I presently know. I will have and already have had questions about radiators and engine stamping. More to come and Thanks for the welcome.

So you bought those from Rick.  Glad to hear they are getting fixed.

Just wanted to mention I restore these cars as well. But in SC. Seems no one wants to do this and when they take you in it takes 3 years.

Big Bird would approve of this yellow big block.

All kidding aside, congrats on your acquisitions and good luck with the restorations. Keep the pix coming.
