Joe that looks FANTASTIC!!!!!    You need a sign "Joes Museum". LOL   Great work!!!

Thanks Willie, I'm glad that part is over now. Just have to get past the final inspections and can hang a heater after that.

  • 2 weeks later...

Had the final building & electrical inspection last week, no problems at all. Tied the gas line to the main at the house & also ran it into the building (left it all un-hooked until the final insp.) Ordering the heater soon & will put that up when it comes.

Got the alarm system all finalized and tied into the existing system. Now that it's fully covered with cameras and sensors, today was 'moving day'. Put a few cars in there so I can paint the man door white in the other shop. Ordered the paint today, will pick it up tomorrow & shoot it next week when I'm off.

Put the Home Depot shelves together and they don't strain a bit with all those tires on there, I think they'll work out fine (added more after the picture was taken). Couple more sets to bring out there, but it looks like those shelves won't care.

The Camaro is still in the other shop, scoping things out for this winter's activities with that car...

That’s a nice after dinner treat, to see you using the building. Put another shelf Over the snowblower and dollies( without the front rail) so you can store on top of them. I know you’re not going to keep them things there anyway, so I’ll shut up. The cars fit good. I guess with 4 in a row you can’t get in and out of them. Yes I know you’re only testing things. Looks great though. 👍👍👍👍👍

Thanks Dennis!

You're right, the snow blower, etc probably won't be there anyways. Could be though, plus the engine puller & trans jack need to go in there too. Plenty of shelf space now, plus a couple that aren't in the pictures that I got from someone. They're book type shelves, but will be good for small stuff.

I think if I lined the cars up all along the back wall I could get in them, but I wanted to see how they set up on the side wall. My plan is to line them all up on the side & then pull 4 more in straight like the truck & Monte on the other side for a winter storage scenario. Summer time, who knows where they'll be sitting.

If you’re going to store extra cars in there for the winter don’t block yours in. I’ve seen a friendly winter storage favor turn into spring, summer, fall and back to winter again and they never move. Two more positioned like the caddy and the vette. Move the truck forward put the camaro there , so you can plow. You’re good to go. Metal brake, lathe, sheer, etc. Yep

Oh no, when spring comes, they go. One way or another...

Truck will likely stay in the other shop if the snow is constant, as there's a drain in there & I don't want any water/salt around the stored vehicles. But yes, the truck will be backed in, ready to go out the door first in the winter months.

Thanks Willie!

Yeah, they're metal. I got 2 of the 90" and one of the 77" shelves. They're on sale right now. The smaller one was needed to clear the motion sensor for the alarm, that's the shelf against the side wall.

You can pick the size near the middle of the page, and it should show if the local stores have it in stock.

Looks really good Joe! All that hard work really paid off. Are we starting a pool for how long it takes to fill it with stuff ?

Thanks Mark!

There's no hurry to fill it up. I don't like clutter, so I'll probably try to put stuff in the attic of this one too, even though there's plenty of room, lol.

I can imagine about every square foot is accounted for already. Lol. I think that there is still grass somewhere for the next one. I crack myself up. lol

Thanks Jim! The other shop looks empty already, lol. It'll look small real soon when there's Camaro parts everywhere.

If you decide to do the floor, give me a call. There's plenty of options depending what you're looking for, maybe I can help you figure out what may work.

Working on the hot tub area to get it prepped for September delivery, but getting a little side tracked.

My buddy is doing some upgrades to his '12 CTS-V to include heads, cam, injectors, supercharger & intercooler upgrades, etc. Expecting 700+ hp when it's done. Should be a fun ride.

Some nice shiny new parts...'Car Porn'.

Busy couple of days. Got the hot tub area pretty much done. That's supposed to come in September sometime. Still need to get some stone for the rest of the fence line & a little top soil for the front corner.

Also got the heater the other day and got it hung on the swivel bracket. Real nice setup with that bracket. Just have to get a flex gas line & vent pipe. Plenty of time before I need that, hopefully...

Still managed to get a little work done on the "V" as well. Ear surgery tomorrow, so that'll be a day without much happening. After that, cut all the cats apart, gut them & TIG them all back together (4 total on the car).
