Canuck
I’ve had a drivetrain vibration that’s been getting progressively worse over the years. My local mechanic took a look and saw some play where the driveshaft goes into the tailshaft. He thinks that the bushing is worn out allowing the driveshaft to be a little sloppy in there. My question: is best to simply replace the bushing or should I buy a whole tailshaft assembly?
MC1of80
Bushing unless it has spun in the tailshaft housing. There will always be some up and down play. Don't get worried if, when you have the tailhousing off and happen to touch/grab the tailshaft itself that it has play also. It is normal.
