Howdy! Hope all are well

i bought my 70 Monte 6 yrs ago. It ran & drove fine. One owner.
sat outside for a few years & had a leak under rear window with boxes of car magazines in trunk. So inside rusted out pretty bad.
anyway, I’ve been hard at work over the years & we are just out of paint & beginning reassembly.
this is my first ever restoration so I learned as a went. Definitely would do things in a different order if I did it over.

I look forward to getting to know y’all & your Monte’s

If  you still have the back glass out you can install some drain tubes in the corners of your Monte.( Nice bye the way ). They are petcock pieces from AutoZone. I have them on mine and draw water from the corners when it is rained on, (Rarely) . the tubes run down to the check holes in outer trunk fenderpost-259-0-07078100-1478003026_thumb.jpeg piece.  I like the color of yours ?  Here is a picture of mine. It's been restored since '08, no issues.post-259-0-93319100-1480263543_thumb.jpg.  They are about an 1" from bottom of corner drilled into to the rear package tray lip.  Hope this helps.

Isn't the original back glass mounting design terrible!

If they only would have brought the trunk lid all the way to the glass then the water could run down to the bumper area and stay clean and dry. My 76 Thunderbird had a trunk lid like that. No problems.....

When I was ‘discovering’ the lower back glass rot issues a good buddy was with me in the shop. We took out the glass & as it became apparent that it was bad, he said “Typical of their sickly breed!”  And he was damn right.
