1970mcss
It looks like you are missing a fuse at the bottom of the block, I think its a smaller fuse. I think its a 4amp

Scott S.
It's usually a full time power feed to options over the base model. ie. lighter, stereo, horn.... or anything that operates when the ignition is turned off.
D N Monte
Okay if that's the case do I need to have that hooked up in mine? is that why my stereo isn't coming on? Or are you saying that's only necessary when you're operating those things if the car is turned off
Dtret
A lot of people will wire stereo directly to power so the ignition switch is not used ( hard on points if turning towards start position ). Really used for anything you want to power up without turning on the ignition switch. The stereo originally powered up when the switch is turned back or forward this is probably not your issue. You’ve got something else going on
Scott S.
Are you using a modern "digital" stereo ?? If so, they require a full time battery connection as well as an ignition connection, to keep the clock and tuner set. If these leads get crossed, then you'll have to reset all those functions every time to start the car. Or if one of the leads isn't even connected, you may not be getting power to your stereo. ie. Ignition to battery lead and no power to ignition lead. As for factory radios, that's a completely independent circuit. One thing I have found with G.M. ignition switches is that over time, the "turned back" position on the key tends to fail. Not sure if it's just a worn out point in the switch, or dirt build up that isolates the point.
cbolt
unplug it and see what stops working. Easiest way to tell.
