1Bad454
Hey guys my air conditioned SS came with a 3 core radiator when I bought it. It does seem to be period correct but I am not sure if it's the original radiator. Did they ever put 3 cores in a big block car with A/C? I'd like to keep it if possible and probably will add an electric fan to supplement. What do you all think?
MC1of80
The 3 core radiator was standard on big blocks with a/c. The 4 core was the optional HD cooling. The top plate and radiator support are kicked out to accommodate the 4 core radiator. If you are familiar with the 70 Chevelles it is known there as the LS6 radiator top plate and core support. My 71 402 a/c Monte, "Barn Find" had the original 3 core radiator.

Canuck
My red 71 SS I had was a 3 core rad. When it needed repair a local rad shop was able to make it a 4 core with the original tanks. Fit in nicely and looked stock but with better cooling.

I like that idea. 😎
