I am no expert so all I can do is tell what I had to do to correct the problem I had. First thing I would ask is have you replaced carpet or added sound deadening material that has limited the pedal travel. Next thing is check to see if when the pedal is to the floor do you get to wide open throttle at the carburetor. For me I had done a engine swap and found it was my throttle cable even though it would go form a nice idle to WOT the pedal on the inside was not going completely to the floor .i believe even possibly changing carburetors may cause this problem. I was able to install a aftermarket throttle cable set the pedal when it was to the floor the carburetor was at WOT reset switch and that corrected my problem .i hope this helps good luck
