parts for sale or

Dennis your a stupid idiot

So here goes. Thursday after work (I got done at 11 am) I drove to Maryland and bought a 70 ss.  Number matching engine and transmission ( don’t know about rear yet) Flint built. I have not been to sleep yet so I’m on 35 hours straight. Here are the pictures. Let me know. The guy I bought it from was talking about parting it out even though he really liked the car. Just too much work with his time constraints. It sat in a field for a minimum of 10 to 15 years. Previous owners pulled the black vinyl top off and pulled some parts of the engine. It will be interesting to say the least. But it looks basically unmolested. All ss parts are still on the car. Lots of pictures, it’s like a bad dream.

Dennis she is bad, but nowhere near as bad from what we have seen before!  Alot of work "yes" without a doubt. Heck she is much better than a few that i have. I say save her. Its not like you cant, we seen your work! Good Luck on your decision.

PS if that color interior is sandlewood, i might have front covers for her.

Dennis,

I truly envy guys like you who possess the know-how (not to mention the tools and materials) to make something like this a restored reality.  Do what’s in your heart, the rest will follow.

My heart says put a gun to my head ( with no bullets) just to show how stupid I am. Lol.

Thanks all.  A lot will depend on when I get it up on stands and check out the underside. Floor boards look pretty good but sitting that long in a field has me concerned about the frame. But I do know where there’s a chevelle sitting with a non original engine in it. A 70 crn engine would look pretty good in it.

If I try to save it , you may have to start coming off them “in stock “ parts. Lol.

That one's gonna hurt the bank account to restore...

If I do it it’s going to take me a LONG TIME. I don’t have that kind of disposable( literally) income.

That’s awesome. We just had that conversation about 20 minutes before I read this. Talk about perfect timing. She was ok with it though. Not happy but ok. I’m a lucky man.

Good thing you bought that 10-bedroom house Dennis. Now you can separate the stuff that's done to the bedrooms in the wings you don't use. Thank God Karen is on board again!!

All i know is that i will be abusing myself forever and then if i can alittle longer!!!

Thanks Tom. That was a joke. Lol. I wouldn’t do that. You have too many cars, you have the parts for a reason. I do really appreciate the knowledge that you guys offer up. It’s been a godsend.

Put a battery tray in it today ( the old one off my 71). This one didn’t seem to hold the battery correctly. Lol. And yes, believe it or not, the bolts came right out. Go figure.
