Just stumbled across this thread. Great looking car Dennis. I am in the process of restoring a similar 70 SS454. Like yours, it is Champaign gold with saddle interior. Mine has a gold vinyl top rather than black. Glad to see you are saving it and not parting it out.

Thanks Dan. I’m still not 100 percent yet. We will see. Glad to see another Ohioan on the group. Your just north of Columbus, I’m just east of Cincinnati.

I will put my new purchase here since I bought it for parts for the pos 70, if I decide to do it. It’s a 71 and was, and is pretty much rust free. Then came “ the accident “. 35 mph crash ( ya I lied when I was in trouble too when I was a kid). Insurance company paid out almost 15,000 and it came with a salvage title. Roof is perfect, that may be already sold, but the back half of the car is very nice. So I got all my patch panels now.

Missed these. They completely stripped the car to build another one. But I did get an extra real nice passenger door, a very fixable 71/72 passenger( I think) fender and a partial fender that they cut apart. O and an extra deck lid.

Well I finally got the title issue all taken care of, big thanks to the unnamed club member who helped me, printed copy in my name and put in the folder. As I would not decide the fate of the car until this was done. Now I will officially say “ it’s go time”. Let the restoration commence. I’m sure most of you assumed that anyway. But this project will not be quick, so don’t expect it in Carlisle any year soon.

Nice going Dennis!!!!   I knew you were going to do her!!! (not that you had a choice).

The rooms in the house are looking very empty at this point

I spoke to Karen and she said she would be more than happy to help as long as you take her on a vacation far away.

See how lucky can one man be!!!

Ohh wait i forgot something :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

Good Luck Dennis, and we are here for you!!!

I’ve never had the honor of actually finding a 51 year old build sheet on a car. Found on top of the gas tank. Kansas built car, shipped to Hodgenville Kentucky and I bought the crashed remnants 51 years later less than 25 miles from the dealership it was bought from. Too bad, but hopefully it will donate a lot of parts to help keep others alive. Well not actually “ donate “ persay  lol

I haven’t been really working on the pos 70. But I did get the engine back in the 55 and fired that up yesterday. Ran pretty good. The owner finally got me the torque converter so I guess I’ll get the transmission back out and put that in. Then rid myself of that so I can have my garage back. I do have a little catching up to do on the pos 70 front. I have some bad body mount holes in the frame so I cut these off the donor car and will cut them apart to fix the holes.

I think I may have posted this elsewhere but it belongs here. Front clip pickup up in North Carolina. I paid 400 bucks for it and he gave me I nice extra tailgate for my truck. ( I cleaned it up put new latch and bezel and sold it last Wednesday for 200 bucks. ).
