willie
Dennis i had the same fluffy stuff in one of the SS's i have. I also wouldn't leave it in there. You opened the can of worms, at least vacuum it out ant throw some dryer sheets in there then cover it up for now. Thats what i did!! I have to say it does look comfy!!! lol I put dryer sheets in all my parts cars, yearly. And believe it or not they do work!! I also spray peppermint around the area, that seems to work also. The only bugger i know that is around is a racoon and i haven't gotten around to catch that PIA yet. But he doesn't hurt any thing.
Scott S.
I didn't find any of that this spring..... But I did find the back half of a mouse when I pulled the driver's seat out. Never did find the rest of it.....
Dtret
I used the dryer sheets many times. I throw in a few mothballs just to upset people. I don’t mind the smell.

Dtret
Was vacuuming the dash, tearing out floor insulation when I decided it would be easier if I pulled the seats out. Found all the console wiring under the matting, plug and play to add a console if I do anything with this thing. Three of the seat bolts/ nuts came right out, not so much on the forth. So it’s now soaking with Freeall. I started to spray the drivers side bolts and noticed it’s a power bucket seat. Score another option.

Dtret
I’m getting to the point that there may be too many options on this pos to scrap it. But I’m still in waiting mode. There’s a legal hang up I’m dealing with on this thing. But it should be taken care of soon then I will make a decision. Passenger front floor is pretty good. Drivers side has a few small holes, that just so happened to get bigger as I picked at them. Ugh.
420ponies
Ho!y Crap!! Power Bucket '70 Monte! No console car,Gold.... Big Block..... That car is calling you out!! If you're thinking that you're in too deep, I have a '65 Chevelle that is sitting on a 6' foot trailer in my garage right now, and has no trunk or Quarter's on it. It's been here for 37 yrs , just wanting to have the time to restore it. Yeah, I've got projects to finish. Just be lucky you've got someone who understands what you're going through. Saints are few and far between. I'd call it destiny if you're after rare Monte Carlo's.......this is one of them.

So I think that option is off the table. I’m just Humpty Dumpty sitting on a wall. The 70 is the one that I really wanted from the beginning. I know it’s a true SS, no doubt about that, but I’d really like to have a build sheet. I know Flint car.

You guys always got something planned in them heads of yours so it would go to good use. Not an eBay cash score.
willie
The car will NOT be parted out or scraped. Dennis has a good head on his shoulders. If she is too much work (at this time) for Dennis. I will bet he will try and sell it whole. We all know Dennis has the ability to do it, we already see what he has done with the others. Fantastic work. I don't believe he is on the fence, i think he just needs a nudge. lol And yes, as James stated he married a saint, and she helps him too. What a great deal!!!! Come on Dennis!!! (I think secretly Dennis wants more dancing bananas!!!)
Dtret
Started gutting the interior today. As rusted as that stupid car is the power seat still works. It moved enough so I could get the back bolts out. Some more mouse house pictures too. And if anyone working on rusted bolts don’t have this tool you really need to invest in one. It’s a lifesaver. No flame infrared heater. Spray some Freeall on them for a bit and this tool will get the bolts red hot , If necessary, so you can spin them off.

I sprayed it down let it sit and hit it with the heat for about a minute and took a vise grip and took the nut off. Really cool tool. I’ve had it about 10 years so there’s probably updated versions of it now.

Dtret
Gutted the interior. Smelling a little better now. Lol. Wanted to see what I ( or someone else) could be dealing with. Drivers side a little rough in a few places. Passenger side is ok, for now. I only did some light putty knife scraping so it’s going to get worse. Trunk has a few spots. You can see the water line. The grinder will tell the whole story.

Dtret
It’s been stripped of most all things chrome (door handles, weatherstrip channels and handles are left). All the stupid bolts came out except 1 bumper bolt ( it’s actually out cuz it came with the trunk pan lol)and the passenger side marker lights had to be drilled. I dropped a ratchet when I was picking up tools and popped a hole in the radiator. Let it leak it’s going to rain tonight. This body is not looking good. Fixable yes but…
