20211003_143549.thumb.jpg.a869df23784c3da6ec26005ffcd73c35.jpgHey I'm Luke and I just joined the first generation monte carlo club. I am from Saskatchewan Canada and have owned a 1971 Monte Carlo for the past 3 years. I have a couple other classic GM cars including a 1963 Chevy II that I have owned since I was 17 and a 1955 Chevy 210 that is my long term project.

My hunt for another classic car that lead to me getting the Monte began in 2019. My Chevy II that had been my summer daily driver in the past was no longer practical for that roll because it has slowly been transforming into more of a drag car with hood scoop, traction bars, etc... I actually found my 1971 Monte Carlo at a insurance salvage yard. The car had been side swipped at a gas station and the insurance company paid the previous owner out.

I fixed the accident damage changed the wheels and have been daily driving it in the summer since. The car is an all original classic copper paint and saddle interior car(accept the side I fixed obviously). Car has a 350/350 combo with bench seat. The car has around 80,000 miles on it. I am the third owner of this car. The original owner a farmer parked the car in the 90's. The previous owner bought it out of an estate sale and got it back on the road. I have to say out of all 4he vehicles that I have owned new and old the Monte Carlo is the best car I have ever had. This thing never skips a beat and is dead reliable. I have had it all over the province of saskatchewan.

Future plans for the car, drive it ha ha. I may convert it to a 4 speed at some point and maybe vortex heads as well but the darn thing just works to good at the moment to mess with it. The car could possibly get a complete repaint in the future as well. Matching the old chalked out metallic paint was difficult and that classic copper shines so nice.

Nice looking car. As a long time listener you probably get the just of the group. Welcome aboard. A lot of us dabble in cars that aren’t Montes, so feel free to throw a few pictures of the others.

Welcome! Same colour combination as my 71. Classic Copper is a great colour.

If you don't mind a little driving, maybe we'll see you at a Western Meet some day.

Dude, You ever think of selling those rims...... I'm all in. That looks just like a Hot Wheels car.  Color, wheels, stance .... Solid looking Monte Carlo !! Yes , Hope you become a member here. Lots of members from up north eh!  Would like to see the other Chevrolet's in the mix. Again, good to see some Canada Monte Carlo owners.post-259-0-93319100-1480263543_thumb.jpg

The Polished Ansen mags in the first 2 pictures " the after it's been fixed"post-259-0-06116300-1484180397_thumb.jpg

420ponies, they are US indy mags. 15x8 rear with 255/70r15 and 15x7 front with 225/70r15. I got them from Summit Racing last year. They have free shipping to Canada now so the deal was right.

I like the 70's day 2 muscle look that it has now compared to before.

Since some of you asked here are the other two cars mentioned in my introduction

The chevy ii 2 door Post is a 100 base model car so no options.  It has a built 350 in it with a m21 and ford 9 inch out back with 4.56 and cal tracs. FB_IMG_1632604629115.jpg.95df692d63fe6c74af7a21657625c313.jpg20200806_210529.thumb.jpg.016b3f6e148172a3bbd7359cf53cd7c1.jpg

The 1955 chevy 210 (my current project) has a 454 bbc that been bored and decked. It has a t56 and also a ford 9 inch with 3.70's. The car will have early 60s impala interior.

My Monte Carlo is great cause it provides me headache free old car enjoyment compared to these two ha ha.
