stangeba
What do you use for brake fluid? I converted years ago to DOT5, can't remember when 10+ years I think, but it's worked fine and still is working fine. My brother and I started a discussion about DOT5 and how they changed the formula and the new stuff can cause some rubber items in the system to swell up and it can't be mixed with the old stuff. He sent me this article: https://nastyz28.com/threads/dot-5.320973/ Our systems are sealed but I started thinking of old vehicles that had a hole in the master cylinder fill plug, to vent it. Thoughts?
jft69z
I use DOT4 in my vehicles. Used to be Castrol LMA (low moisture absorbing), but it's name changed years ago & harder to get. I just picked up 4 bottles recently, should last me for awhile. In the ZR1 I use Castrol SRF for the brakes and clutch, even higher boiling point, but pretty expensive. Any DOT 4 would realistically work, as it would need to meet the minimum standards for that class.
DragCat
Yea I use DOT4, and yes DOT5 doesn't play well with the others.
