Control Arm Seal Fitting

Recommended Posts

I bought these seals from summit (photo 1) and they don’t seem to match what was on my ‘72 (photo 2). Do they fit like in my photo where I’m holding them in place? (Photo 3). The current ones are smaller and flat but these seem to have to fold over the edge of the inner fender.

The seal should sit flat on the face of the inner fender flange, where the old staples are presently, not folded over the top..

Yes, those are the wrong ones but like Dennis said, rather than the cost of shipping them back I would try cutting them down to fit.  The  pictures from Joe and Dennis should help. Yours almost look like they are plastic but in reality they should be simi-stiff heavy rubber I think around 3/8 inch thick.  Here is a link showing the ones from Lutty's Chevy:  https://www.luttyschevy.com/search.html#!year%3D1970||make%3DCHEVROLET||model%3DMONTE CARLO||sq%3DINNER FENDER
