trouble60c
Looking to add 500+ horsepower I have a stock TH350 transmission and a stock Chevy 10 bolt 8.2. I know it’s been said that they can’t handle the power but what is the breaking point? I’m sure just bolting them up together is not gonna make one of the two components commit suicide so what is it that actually break them? Steve G
Play it safe and run the skinniest tires you can find or your breaking point will be whatever breaks first...
trouble60c
So it’s the force of traction that breaks them?
Steve G
Torque, traction and weight... you got at least two already ...
Scott S.
Age is also a factor..... Have you rebuilt either of them ? I've personally had very little luck with the 10 bolt 8.2" differentials. (Replaced a few over the years) Adding that much horse power, you should play it safe and upgrade to a heavy duty 12 bolt.
