Found this the other day and I'm not sure where it belongs. I have the round connector doubled back it supposed to run toward the firewall. I wanted to get it into the picture with the plug it starts from.

On my 72 it had that plug on the back of the AC compressor. It was not required as my replacement compressor did not have it and mt repair guy told me that. It is still on the car tucked up somewhere under the hood

It goes to the super heat switch on the back of your 72. It completes the ground circuit by measuring temperature and opens the circuit at around 250 degrees when working properly. If the switch is open, you can just clip the end of the connector and ground it right to any of the compressor mounting bolts.
