Headlights

I have these with the OE lens option, they're far brighter than the headlights in any car that I've owned. They dropped into the bucket with no issues, but I may need to trim 1/8" from the bucket's inner diameter to get the trim rings to sit tighter.

Those look nice and they have a nice info video 👍 A tad bit pricey but then what isnt these days 🤣

I know Ralph was LED specific, but just throwing out another alternative some of us have gone with.

Thanks, I only mentioned LED because I'm thinking this are the brightest. I'll look at any brighter lights.

Thx again.

Any pictures of our type cars with these lights.

I can get some next weekend, but the front end is only partially installed. Unless you're looking at them straight on I doubt anybody but a purist would even notice the difference, the entire lens is fluted other than a small circle in the middle for the projector. I chose this style because I didn't want the cheaper lights with multiple projectors that look like a fly's eye.

I can't give you anything installed at night before or after if that's what your asking for. I went with these because the lighting at the end of the track for the turn off lanes is not the best and they were recommended by another member here. If you just want only appearance here ya go. Disclaimer, they were adjusted on the back wall of the garage during the day, may take some tweaking for actual night time 🤣But they are truly plug and play,

I used these Hella 7" lights and some LED bulbs. Nice bright light with a flat cutoff pattern, I've not been flashed by oncoming traffic. They fit with no modification required. I've used Hella products for years on motorcycles.

Ditto as BobW mentioned. I have had these 3 years, no issues and man do they light things up. Traveling down to Carlisle I take some dark 2 lane back roads to get there and these do the trick. They're used on Porshe Carrara's

Did you opt for the DRL (Daytime Running Light) on your headlamps?

Thanks,Matt

I still haven't run them at night 😲 I bought these on the recommendation of a friend and member here. Welcome to the club btw. I'll assume you've used the search function of the forum 🤘 to find this old thread A few members have since gone LED fronts for their Monte's I was told the difference with original and these was night and day (pun intended) but obviously not as bright as LED.

Mark got them after I did. They're a definite improvement over the factory sealed beams, but still more of the yellowish color of halogens.

I've since changed the bulb to a Philips LED, which is a night/day difference.

I have pictures of before/ after here somewhere.

I have the halogen diving lights, but haven't hooked them up.

They seem pretty bright. Not as good as the new cars today.  But for a 1972.

I did not go for day time running lights.

Ralph - those new one(s) look phenomenal!

Thanks for the picture and update. Very clean. I wonder how well the DRL would look and work (just curious) - but again, your future looks pretty bright!

Thanks,Matt

I wanted to share my headlights that I installed. See the YouTube Video for the operation (no narration just a little over a minute)

LED headlights with DRL (angel eye) and Amber (angel eye when turn signal is on) - I purchased these on Ebay and they came to $41.44 shipped. They are great and they work phenomenal! These illuminate fantastic too.

Installation was a breeze.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,Matt
