Searsman
ATTENTION:. If you booked your reservation for the Eastern FGMCC meet in Somerset at the Best Western, it had structured damage due to a fire. The club Hotel, Holiday Inn Express in Somerset is unaffected. But Rooms now for May will go fast so you might need to make the change to the club hotel soon.. Rob Peters
I want to personally thank Ron Tevis for all of his work he has put in to make this Eastern Meet a very successful and well planned meet. Ron has made multiple trips to Somerset to help him lay out an itinerary and find things of interest for our members planning to come. Ron has told me he is having fun and is trying to plan this Eastern Meet and make it a huge success. Ron tells me that people are planning to come from I think 17 states and since many people are coming from far away he wants to make sure their experiences are worth the ride. Thank You to Ron and his wife, Shirley for all of your work to make this upcoming Eastern Meet a well panned event. rob 6

Jared Richey
Yes it helps a lot having someone close that knows the area. Donny did that in 2021 in Bristol. Thank you Ron.

Yep, just shows what king of members we have here. Not to forget Donny helped secure Uncle Joe's Monte when he had a catastrophic failure on the last night of the Bristol meet. We've seen it on the forums, and ive seen it at Bristol and Carlisle, the 2 meets ive attended, members helping members. Says a lot about all the people here . Proud to be a member of FGMCC
Searsman
Thanks guys , actually I went to Somerset to familiarize myself with area so I wouldn’t get everyone lost going from one event to the other! . 😆just kidding, . Everything is set and confirmed and reconfirmed.. A lot more to this than most realize... it’s been and is a pleasure to assist Rob , Jared and the club... Found a backup photo opp spot Tuesday close to lake Cumberland.. the lake is back to summer pool so that is a blessing... it’s Memorial Day weekend at the lake so we will need to get our pictures Thursday or Friday... of course will get photos at the show on Saturday .. hopefully the good photographer that was in Bristol will be in Somerset... reconfirmed our reservation for Saturday evenings dinner at wings - with the general manager. spoke with club hotel made sure we could tape off ample parking for our cars and trailers . checked on theater films for that weekend, new horror movies about that time 😱 found a Reno’s road house which I didn’t know was there. drove down to Burnside where Friday’s meet and greet takes place ... found a better downtown entrance for Saturday show where we don’t have to turn around to park,,, just back up at an angle... couple more things to check on with Jared and we,ll just be waiting one one more thing . YOU ! On May 25,26, 27 th... Ron... 4

cbolt
Question; I am trying to decide whether or not to pack my tent for at the show field and would like to know if we are going to park on concrete or grass. I dont see that anywhere in this thread. No sense in packing a tent if its a concrete parking area like Bristol.
Leghome
Last time it was a paved parking [ot
Searsman
It is pavement like Larry said. My understanding is that it’s on a street in front of the courthouse close to center of activity. Probably no place to pitch a tent. Not in a parking lot. the Friday night block party is pavement and a large grassy area behind the somerset mall.. 10x10 awnings ok usually for that area but not on Saturday downtown…
