cny first gen 71
From what I understand yes it could be ordered any way you wanted it with very few exceptions, but there was a few.
Grant MacPherson
I don’t think those are 72 buckets

714024SPEED
I had a 70 years ago ordered with bucket seat column shift. Lady ordered the car like that so she could put her purse in-between the seats. The buckets in the picture appear to be from a Camaro or TA 70's-80's.
MC1of80
Those seats , like Grant and Kevin said, are not 72 Monte or 72 gm buckets. They are 73-77 gm buckets . The speedo suggestion is a good indicator also. Look at your trim tag for the interior code. That will definitely tell you what your 72 was born with. Rob Peters
The Bucket Seats were one option and the Console was a completely separate option so the answer would be yes. I have heard of people converting from a column shift to a floor/column shifter but never heard of anyone going from a floor/console shifter to a column shifter so it is my guess that car was ordered as you described. rob
cbolt
My 72 was equipped with buckets and no console from the factory. My guess is the ladies purse theory, but I will never know for sure.
