I was playing in the engine bay tonight. The engine was built by McKinnon Industries Nov 24, 1971. It appears to have the original distributor cap and coil.

I found the line sheet in the upper portion of the rear seat. It took a bit of work to get it out to minimize the damage and got it out in one piece.

6363 Mohave Gold upper and lower

AK1 deluxe seat belts w/shoulder front
A02 tinted windshield
B37 front and rear color key floor mats
B93 door edge guards
C50 rear defogger
D33 remote left mirror
D34 visor vanity mirror
D99 two tone/vinyl roof trim
GS1 2.73 rear axle
K05 block heater
M38 TH350
PU8 G78-15 white stripe tires
U08 dual horns
U63 push button radio
U76 windshield antenna
V30 bumper guards
W84 additional fuel fir delivery
ZP5 appearance group
Z49 Canadian equipment

The D99 is a code for the trim on a solid colour car. This was a Canadian plant only thing and I imagine it is very rare. I'm glad I was able to solve the mystery. I'm very excited about this and will certainly make this car harder for me to let go.

I can hear it now.   "April, I know I promised to flip this car for a profit but it is so rare....."

The line sheet is a great addition to the car. My build sheet shows my SS had the engine block heater when new, but it's long gone. I've wondered how it looked and installed. Does your car still have it?

Yes, it is still on the car. I was originally going to take it off as it looks ugly having the plug stick out between the grille and bumper. I will likely leave it on the car but coil it up in the engine bay to keep it original.

I see you keeping this car in the collection. The three of them look so good together

I don't think I'll be able to keep three. I have 3 cars and one wife... one of those 4 things will likely not be staying.

That's a shame Aaron.  I have never met her but from what I could gather she sounds like a wonderful great woman, it would be sad to see her have to go.  If I am not mistaken you have two daughters, a selling point to keeping all three is one for each daughter and one for the two of you.

Just kidding on her having to go.

There’s all sorts of great logic on this forum. 🤣😂

I think we need to start a Contest Board to see just which one Aaron drives to the WM.  Decisions, decisions, decisions...

I agree with the guys Aaron, The saying goes, a (butt) for every seat. That means you need to get another Monte  for your (butt). This way EVERYONE is happy!. However make sure your lovely wife gets to pick first!!!  So the happiness continues for a long, long time!!!   lol

Always great info from Vintage Vehicle Services. I wish they had added statistics about how many had the D99 option.

I’ve been taking a ton of photos of original tags and markings on this car. It has the original spark plug wires dated 4Q-71 still on it.

Some interior photos. The rear belts are dirty from being stuffed under the seat. Hopefully I can get those cleaned up. All the belts are wrinkled from being crammed under the seats.

Just to put it out there, ya know, to help with your decision and all. Sandy and April get along pretty well, with our without wine in their hands, so you know she would have a good life out here if you choose the car. 😉

Really amazing find. The car that is. Well april too!!! Ahh geez I better stop before I get into more trouble with Sandy!!!!

Hoping to see the car in May.🤞 Well April too!!  There I go again.

Decisions Decisions !!

The wife or the car .... Gosh , I agree , what a dilemma.

I had an ex-fiancé that was allergic to the dog we got (she wanted it). That dog lived to be 17 1/2 years old, about 9 years longer than that relationship lasted. Smartest dog I ever had, keeping her was the right call for me 😁.

Sometimes loosing a dog is more difficult than loosing some family members.....distant family of course !! 😂

We had to put Winston , our male Westie down a little over a year ago and I still have a difficult time when I think about him.   However ,  so thankful to have had him for almost 15 years.

I received a box of parts today. I removed the original hood insulation as it was pretty dirty. Looks really good on the underside of the hood. I’ll re-use the original hood clips to put on the new insulation. This car being low miles deserved to have the MC emblem on the original spear so I had one of those shipped out too. I managed to get the grill and front bumper aligned a little better. Heater core swap is the plan in the next few weeks. Then I will take it in for a safety inspection and a wheel alignment.

I replaced the heater core in my 71 (NON A/C) and put some pictures together on the event that may be of help to you.

I had over 100,000 miles and it needed much more work than yours.
