math18gauge Posted April 29, 2023 Share Posted April 29, 2023 Hello guys and ladies, i would know if some people in this club had done some modification to the wheel housing. i have to redo my thrunk due to the rust. i think about doing bigger wheel housing, with ou without mini tubs. ( actually i try to make a reproduction of hellwig kit ). does some of you have done bigger wheel housing ? with or without mini tubs ? best regards. 502ci Posted April 30, 2023 Share Posted April 30, 2023 Bigger wheel housing as in fender flare? Definitely can not do a mini tub as the inner housing is just about flush with the frame. You would have to notch the frame and box it back in to gain room. Awhile back I ran 325/50/15 tires and and did use a mallet to massage the inner fender in maybe 3/8" and it was perfectly even with the frame. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
rtgz71 Posted December 13, 2023 Share Posted December 13, 2023 If you have rust issues and want to run a bigger tire do what 502 mentioned, frame notch, but go with full tubs instead of splitting the originals and piecing them back together, just easier and looks better.....in my opinion!
