You can drag pictures to the bottom of the open dialog box, or use the "add files" button.

Worst case, email them to the letter we sent you a bit ago and we'll post them for you.

Digging in for a cleanup/paint this winter spring. Pulled rear seat no lucky cash! No build sheets. Worked the passenger side moldings today, and the rockers look excellent! That was fun but I got pside molding off without damaging. Barely anything to see. We will pull rear window and get her in epoxy this spring for sure. IMG_7732.thumb.jpeg.d4d62694c04f2a1f8e3097fda8c4c072.jpeg

I'd put that shiny stuff "Roadworthy Rescues" does with his and Drive it! Pretty clean, and not bad on the eye at all !

Thanks y’all! I have hoped to let it go but I love the car as my first ride was a chevelle and this is its reincarnation if ya know what it is like. When I picked this up over 7 years ago! the plan was complete restoration. Then a neighbor let me finally purchase a 72 Satellite Sebring he had buried inside a garage. It turned out to be a creampuff  and I started picking off tuning challenges it needed. Monte just sitting but was covered and out of the weather..Finally hooked up with a good painter and got on a waiting list for the MC…

But !!!!!

I decided to let him paint and Restore the body of my baby, my HS sweetheart. My 70 Nova. And he did take my entire paycheck for 6 months $$$$$$ and it is amazing!

Here we are somebody’s got to do it! It’s a bad habit brothers! It may still go to someone or maybe the Satellite will go this Summer as I am a Chevy/GM guy for sure.

I do for sure need the outer window fuzzies and appreciate the offer!

@420ponies

Let’s let this stay in for sale for another minute eventually move to restoration thread. I have a friend that wanted the “red big block, Black interior,  console 4 speed” and nothing else…I keep telling him anything is possible,  we can buy it all!!!

Good decision. I like the Monte being saved. And it sounds like you’re a good car guy and you can “ Make It Great Again “.

Good news as it is time to move to the resto thread!

New Raybestos front pads installed over the weekend. Upper and lower rear control arms are on the way. New Old headlight bezels delivered. A nice pile of parts is being labeled/Stored!

Muffler shop visit then to mechanic/painter friend for the real treatment. He will start with the rear suspension. Most interior and trim will be here. Strip, epoxy the frame and I will do the metal repair and any welding while in process. Remove rear window and paint channels everywhere, trunk back deck. Door tops where fuzzies were etc..So far it’s coming apart easy as I have Bowtie Blood!! Cheers!!!!

A great riding car even with the interior removed its smooth and solid. Onward to the paint and patina removal. I supplied some (20) 8” 40 Grit sanding discs to get him started.

That is bad news for sure. Did your mechanic change the upper bushings on that rear housing? You have to be real careful with them as you found, the cast iron housing does NOT like someone beating the bushings out & back in with a hammer. They need to be pressed in & out to help minimize damage to those ears.

I am sure Dennis would have one, or Leo, not sure who is closer to you Jim!

There are tools for pressing out the old and pressing in the new bushings. Got mine on Amazon. Energy Suspension brand.

OOF!! I certainly  hate when something like that happens. I think Jared visited a Monte Carlo scrap yard that had 1st Gens in it. Can't remember where though (Tennessee?). And yes, those tools Mark is talking about are the best for this job. I hole sawed mine out(old school trick), and then that bushing housing sleeve tapped        ( brass drift and hammer) , right out. Rear axle out of the car to do it.

Hey Jared let me know if you remember where the junk yard is. I should’ve bought the tool for him. I did read about that happening to someone… The closest one I found is in Virginia. Hopefully they’ll be something around locally. Definitely not really excited about putting in a $2000 12bolt in this two barrel 350.
