flatmotor
Still having trouble with a wire getting hot on the compressor switch on the housing. It is the wire that is tan/light green. But the 2 relays on top of the glove box are causing me trouble.I have jumped themm before but now I can't get the compressor to kick in.If I plug both in sometimes it will engage with the key on and not the a/c control.1 is the anti dieseling .I tried to jump the tan wire with the light blue but the compressor will not engage. This is about to drive me crazy,Thanks for any help
flatmotor
The compressor switch will not cut the compressor on.I can jump the 2 wires and compressor will run all the time. Can you get that switch or how to bypass.Almost ready to rip all the factory out and put a Vintage air in. 1970mcss
I wish I had more knowledge about ac to answer your question. My compressor is working but I had a bad high blower relay and I think all my freon is somehow gone.
flatmotor
after more checking both of the switches that control the compressor and fan seem to be where things are hot so today I will put 2 toggle switches and seem if they get hot enough to burn.I'm just trying to get the wires to stop getting hot that they melt.I know you can't get those switchs anywhere. They mount on the heater and a/c control. Thanks for help. You can still get the heater blower switches. My high blower relay went bad and then fried the heater control switch. I replaced both and now the blower is good but the freon needs to be charged. Chevy Dave
If you jumper the low pressure switch your compressor should run. If you don't get cold air after doing this, you have a low refrigerant charge. If you get cold air with the switch jumpered, you could have a defective switch. If you don't understand the system, it is best to have a professional diagnostic it. I would not replace the GM system with an aftermarket system.
