Never Say Never about you Monte being a Trailer Queen.  An hour out of Carlisle my lower radiator hose blew at the water pump at the hose clamp.  We were on the PA Turnpike and the nobody close by had one "IN STOCK"  the nearest U-haul place with an available truck and trailer was an hour and half from us was and south east of Carlisle.  She became a trailer queen by necessity rather than by choice.

Got home around 9:45 this evening snd the car off of the Uhaul trailer !  Thanks again for your grilling expertise.  I called parts stores around Pittsburgh and none of them had it "in stock" but O'Reilly will have it for me In the morning.

Got home around 9:45 this evening and got the car off of the Uhaul

Yes sir… Quite the anti-climactic end to an otherwise great weekend. Sorry this had to happen to you, Rob.

Usually this form of karma comes knockin’ for guys who deserve it…. like Dragcat. So I’m not exactly sure why the universe is so outta balance like this.

All kidding aside, I’m glad it wasn’t worse and that you and your family are back home safe and sound.

File this one under “No Good Deed Goes Unpunished”.

Rob, Trailer queens are cars that get  to and from shows, that's a hard luck award going home from the show. Glad you made out alright. Maybe that "stock " hose had too many miles on it ? We might have to create an award for this in the future. That tow rig looks nice!!

Rob,

How many miles and how many years old were on the hose that failed?  I like to change my hoses and belts at about 10 years or about 50000 miles and carry the old ones in my trunk for emergencies. I am curious when they actually fail.

I just replaced all of the hoses on Ole Red. Having put new aluminum heads on I am taking no chances. Glad you made it home Rob in spite of the delay

The important thing is you and your family made it home safe and sound.

I want to echo everyone else's sentiment and say thank you for yet another successful EM. Heat or no heat, Linda and I had a blast and are already making plans for next year.

yes main thing  is you all got back safely ...a nasty inconvenience for sure ,but NOT a tragedy !!     what frustrates me is why couldn't it have happened in Carlisle?  first,i have a lower in  the trunk in shape good enough to run you home... and there woulda been guys pushing there way in to change it with you... second, even if I didn't have one,   we would have hung around as long as it takes to make it whole!!    guess life doesn't always work that way...but now you can go in and check all lines thet are rubber, and rest easy for next time!!                       (ps. the little lady wonders why there is that crate of stuff in there... no room for extra shoes ,clothes etc... I might tell her if there wasn't you might need all those shoes to walk and find that part !! ...  but i won't cause i've been around long enough to know better!!  lol )

I guess I'll be ordering hoses now for the tool box, silly me thought duct tape might be viable to get it back on the trailer 🤣

I always have spare rad and heater hoses in the trunk of the Montes on a road trip. It saved me one time having the proper hose on hand.

Someone was asking about the longevity of the hoses and belts. I use the same standard as the tires; every 8 years regardless of visual signs of wear, with 8 years being the drop dead date. Belt and hose changes are inexpensive preventive maintenance things you cannot afford to overlook. In Robs case I suspect the weather was the biggest factor.

Heck, I change the A/C belt every year. You know, just in case. 🤣

Definitely not what you wanted to happen after all the hard work you put in to make this show happen. Sorry to hear you had this problem but glad to hear you and the car are home safe
