“Booger” Pulled a 2nd Place Today

Recommended Posts

Local show today on a perfect day weather wise.  I’m not sure how they judged but I was happy to take home a second place win.  Lotta nice cars, a good mellow crowd and some beers for good measure. First place in my class was this beautiful original owner ’75 Eldo droptop…

Thanks Willie. I guess it brings in enough money to justify it. I was there for the first year they had it but missed it last year for Carlisle. And that is a four block stretch of a pretty major street in a nearby suburb. Two blocks were dedicated for the cars and two blocks for food and other assorted vendors, beer tent, music stage etc. The local businesses also remained open and it looked like they still had plenty of foot traffic, so it was a win all the way around.

Small town car shows are great that way....

Diamond Valley's show at the end of July closes down 6-7 blocks and lines both sides of the street plus the side streets as well.

Congratulations, Glen!  You have a gorgeous '71 Monte! No shame at all in placing second to that beautiful El Dorado!

Back in 2011, I entered my '70 SS in the 70s Stock class of a small-town car show (ironically in El Dorado, KS).  I also placed second (but to a Mopar of all things!).

There were two immaculate Roadrunners at the show and I believe it was the green one that placed first in my class.  I had only owned my SS 3 months at that point and hadn't yet mounted the level ride compressor so I guess the judges weren't too picky.  There was a '71 Monte SS there also but I don't know if or where he placed.
