I didn't have foam insulation to protect my A/C hose from rubbing on the alternator bracket.  The issue for me was holding the hose in place so it didn't flop around in a way that wasn't ugly. @Dtret made some suggestions which got me thinking and this is what I came up with.

  • I created a metal ring out of 1/16" steel rod. I used heat shrink tubing to keep the open ends from separating
  • I looped the ring into the heater hose support bracket
  • I used a 1/2" zip tie to go around the foam and loop through the ring

I like the clean look and I don't have to worry about the hose rubbing on the alternator bracket or moving.

I love it when people come up with innovative and creative ideas to make something work better. To me, that is exactly what "hot rodding" is all about.

Great job Bryan!
