Big Block Travis Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Hello everybody in Monte Carlo land, my name is Mark Travis and I just joined your Club. I have a 70 for the 2nd time, my 1st was a 70 SS454 bought in 1980 when I was 19 for $1200.00 and stupidly sold it in 93, so I picked up the same color & interior I used to have but with a 350. A special shoutout to Glen Popiela whom I met at a Car Show with his Beautiful 71 SS454 and invited me to join the FGMCC. Glad to have my favorite car back. I will send pictures when I figure out how. 14 Quote

Marks71 Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Welcome to the club Mark. In a couple weeks it will be 1 year since I joined. Just renewed my dues last week. The dues are nothing compared to the helpful info I’ve gotten from some of the members. Best money I’ve ever spent. Take it from a computer illiterate, posting photos is almost as easy as posting a comment. Looking forward to those photos. By the way, we have a few members that can be quite entertaining also. 6 1 Quote
willie Posted August 13 Posted August 13 Welcome To the crazy Monte Carlo club Mark!! As others have stated this is the best Monte club, with the most knowledge and willing to share and help! But most importantly the comradery is unbelievable, yes we have a ton of fun on the boards. Be looking forward to talking to you on the boards in the future!! 4 1 Quote
Glen Posted August 13 Posted August 13 My stomach hurts from laughing so hard at these comments. But as I’ve mentioned and will reiterate again, this is a great group of people with knowledge and resources they’re eager to share. Not to mention a lot of good natured ribbing about anything and everything. As far as submitting pictures… from your phone, before submitting a comment, click on the ‘Add Files’ box below which will take you to your photo album(s). Then click on which pix you want to submit and click ‘Submit Reply’. it usually takes several seconds for each picture to load depending on size, but that’s it in a nutshell. Look familiar??… 11 Quote

Actually, I did… I forget now how far after mine that Marks was built (mine is 3rd week of January) but they are both out of Van Nuys and both have Halo trim and the chrome strip under the headlights. I looked at his cowl tag to confirm the paint code for him but for the life of me I can’t remember with certainty the month and week of build. Sucks getting old 😂. My gut is telling me April… 2 Quote

S.Maug Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Hello, Mark. Welcome to the club, as a new club member myself 4-23, I have owned my 70 "sin city" since I was 18", now being 63 I have found a great group of folks that share my love for the first-Generation Monte Carlo. You will find them knowledgeable, helpful, loving and forgiving. Pictures always welcome, looking forward to conversing with you many times in the near future. 2 Quote
Glen Posted August 26 Posted August 26 Hey Mark… You’re gonna have to explain to the group the history and specs on that awesome Caprice… and who drives it regularly. PS - the bottom of your Monte looks just as nice as the rest of it. 5 Quote
