1Bad454 Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Does anybody have any pictures of how the under dash insulation is supposed to go on? I bought a kit from OPG and it didn't have any directions. Quote
stangeba Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Many years ago I had to replace the heater core in my 71 (NO A/C) Monte. I put this picture collage together showing what I did, called the snowball effect, not much about the insulation, I think I just pushed the pins into the firewall, and I don't remember where I bought it from. With or withOUT A/C is important. I hope something in this group of pictures will help you some. (Click on the hot link) Good luck! https://1971montecarlo.wordpress.com/2019/04/26/heater-core-replacement-on-a-1971-monte-carlo-no-a-c/ 1 Quote
MC-71 Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 Is it the firewall insulation that installs with your heater box removed or is it the insulation that goes above the first mentioned. if so throw it away and buy the insulation with the sticky back and cut to fit. Quote
1Bad454 Posted September 8, 2024 Author Posted September 8, 2024 It's not the fire wall insulation it's called an under dash insulation. Here is the link to it that has a picture of it. https://www.opgi.com/interior-accessories/dash-accessories/underdash-panel-insulation-reproduction/insulation-under-dash-68-72-a-body-R53299B.html Quote
MC-71 Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Yes that’s the insulation. I couldn’t figure it out myself. That’s why I used the insulation with the sticky stuff on the back. Worked much better. 1 Quote

1Bad454 Posted September 18, 2024 Author Posted September 18, 2024 Hey everybody here's a picture of my OPG under dash insulation install. I pretty much had to wing it but if anybody buys this kit here's an idea to build off of. 5 Quote
