Canuck Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Great weekend as always. It was a little cooler than usual and we had a couple rain showers on Saturday but overall was a good weekend weather-wise. We ended up with 28 members and 28 Monte Carlos from 7 states and 2 provinces. Special shoutout to Kevin and Lucas Uilkie who each drove a 1971 SS454 1,459 miles from Arizona. Lucas received the long distance award at the Endless Summer car show as well as the FGMCC Western Meet award. Lucas' car was in the garage when they started their drive with Kevin's in the driveway so Lucas drove about 20 feet further than Kevin 😁. Award winners Best Interior - Pat Trottier Best Paint - Peter Ureta (Marcia accepting award) Best Engine - Drew Molden Best Chrome - Tom Kelly Best Non-Restored - Janine Withers Jensen Best Modified - Kevin Dyck Best Street - Johnny Macneil Best Stock - Vaughn Peoples (Kathie accepting award) Longest Owned - Jack Reather Members' Choice - Doug Cameron Meet Director's Choice - Cameron Lewis (Steven accepting award) Longest Distance Driven - Lucas Uilkie Hard Luck - Lucas Uilkie (tire failure and broken points in his distributor) 7 Quote
Montemedic Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Congratulations to everyone in attendance at the Western Meet. You’re all winners in my eyes for taking the time and effort to attend, prepping your Monte’s for the trip and taking part in the Club Western Meet. A great way to meet other Club members and see plenty of awesome Montes. Congratulations to all the award winners too. 3 Quote
Dtret Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Excellent job everyone. There’s a lot of work to put one of these meets together and also all the hard work that the members put in to their cars to get them there. Congratulations to everybody and a big thank you. 3 Quote
Glen Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Well done everyone, especially Aaron for making it all happen. Hope to meet some of you Westerners in a couple years once we’re settled into retirement. 4 Quote
Rob Peters Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Congratulations to you all. Thank you so much to Aaron Dodsworth for kicking off the Western Meets so many years ago and continuing to host not only Western Meets but also mini-meets for our members out west and mid-west. Does anyone have bench racing photo's? rob 3 Quote

I have lots of photos I still haven’t gone through yet. 3 Quote
Cooltech Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Thanks again Aaron for organizing and the planning that you did. As I said I was thinking of selling the monte but after meeting everyone for the first time I'm keeping her It was a great experience and will do it again. Cheers!! 5 Quote
72-CLASSIC_RIDE Posted September 17, 2024 Posted September 17, 2024 Missed last years 2023 WM due to surgery but Aaron once again Outdid himself with this awesome showing of Members, Cars and Memories in Summerland. As a bonus, next years 2025 WM returns to the previous years Meet in Logan, Utah that I sadly missed. I wish to express my Thanks to ALL those Members/Guests that attended/helped this year for their Friendship and primarily for making this one of the best WM's I have attended, and that's difficult to do considering Aarons & Aprils past years of WM Slam Dunks, so a Salute to ALL of you & looking forward to a repeat in 2025... A special for Kevin's expertise in navigating his Drone over, around and not sure but maybe even under our Montes! Incredible footage and Incredible control. Thanx Kevin... I wish to express my appreciation for the Award I had received during the Awards ceremony. It took me completely by surprise and frankly because of the efforts others made preparing, I felt those were most deserving in my opinion. However, I've never been very good with accepting Praise and want ALL to know that I do Value your Opinion and will Display this Award with Pride. It was a very Humbling experience for me. Trust each and ALL made it or in process of making it Home safely after the WM and hope to retain some if not all those faces/names from this years Meet. Always new faces/names that challenges my mental capacity to keep up, so don't be offended if I have to Recap. I'm at Age now where in order to remember, there's something I have to forget in order to make space! Best to ALL, Doug 7 Quote
