overdrive
I'm collecting some more parts for our 4 speed car restoration and it has a cracked stereo dash pad. If anyone has a really nice black one, I'm interested. I also need a nice headlight knob. It's a '71 with no international symbol on it. Dtret
I’ve helped Dan on some of the other things he needed but I did not have these items. I have nice dash pads but not black.
cny first gen 71
The dash pad I have on my car was originally green I used SEM paint and I personally think it came out great. Looks like new.
Scott S.
Hey Daniel, Two questions.... 1) how badly cracked is it ? ( I can't open your picture file) 2) how close to original are you trying to get ? I ask because I redid mine this spring using spray on undercoating.... Turned out O.K. and I'm waiting to see how it holds up before (or if) I paint it to match. Scott. Looks like new. I viable option. Find the nicest one you can regardless of color. When I replaced the dash on my 84 GMC truck, I bought a new GM dash from a dealer. It came in gray. My interior was blue. Using the GM color code, I had the color made using a PPG vinyl dye. Came out perfect. That was 32 years ago. Still have it. Still perfect. Because you have the luxury of it being black, SEM is the way to go. Prep is key. They have a wax and grease remover. ArmorAll (silicone) is a painters worst nightmare.
cny first gen 71
Yup I did mine around 10 years ago or so still looks like day I did it. Yes cleaning it up completely is key.
