Montemedic Posted February 17 Posted February 17 John, Yes the factory AM/FM 8 Track was 28 lbs if I remember correctly. I had to weight it prior to shipping mine out to be repaired. Make sure you reinstall the backstrap or brace so that radio doesn’t bounce or move causing issues to your repaired dashboard. Nice job on your repair too. 1 Quote
71SSclone Posted February 24 Author Posted February 24 Thanks CK. I got a rear bracket for the radio from Dennis, so I should be good to go. It took alot of trial and error to get it fitting just right, but I think it should hold up well now. That kit from Beldon looks great, wish it was available when I repaired my dash. 3 Quote
Dtret Posted February 28 Posted February 28 So I did get the two kits. They look great and the jig fits the actual radio hole nice and snug. Problem is I don’t have a dash worthy of fixing or they don’t need fixing. lol. Worst case I pull the radio out of the chevelle and fix that one. 5 Quote
Rob Peters Posted March 1 Posted March 1 My kit arrived today. I have a real challenge. I am going to have to do this with the dash installed in the car. I don't think I want to get into the snowball of removing the dash to make the repair. I will have to take my time with my dremmel tool. rob 1 Quote
