So....If you have read any of my previous posts, you know that I am working on a QA1 Suspension upgrade on my Monte Carlo which includes upper lower control arms, trailing arms, shocks, and coil overs,

You also know that know that I checked with Unisteer and their rack is not compatible with QA1.

After some additional research, TRZ Motorsports makes a rack and pinion conversion kit that will work.

This is what they said.

A few things to keep in mind, these have a wide turning radius. If you are street driving, you might not like the fact that you will no longer be able to complete a 3-point turn in a parking lot.

Aside from that, the kit comes with everything needed; billet steering arms for the stock spindles & the provided steering shaft kit slips inside the stock column. Everything else in between for mounting is there.

I don’t have an umber comparison, but you are looking at like 3-3/4” to maybe 3-7/8” turns from lock to lock.

The supplied steering arm holes have two sets of holes for where the tie-rod ends bolt to the steering arms / spindles. The hole furthest out from the spindle is requires more input to get the car to turn.

If you use the hole closer to the spindle, it requires less input & picks up some turning radius.

i hope this helps.  I am still considering it, but.......that dakota digital dash looks sooooo good, and I have spent my allowance for now.
