Stewys454 Posted November 28 Posted November 28 Hi everyone. I've been searching old posts for my answer to no avail. I have a 71 SS454 that is being painted factory black and I'm trying to find out what the black valance area below the trunk should be as far as the sheen goes. I doubt it matters but it's a Canadian car. I painted once in the 70's and can't remember if it was flat, satin or the same as the rest of the black. I know on any color car but black, the rear valance is flat or satin. Thanks for any knowledge you can give me. Quote
cny first gen 71 Posted November 28 Posted November 28 I just looked at a black one and it is gloss like the rest of the car. 1 Quote
willie Posted November 28 Posted November 28 I agree with Steve and Dennis, Black SSs get the gloss on the rear panel!! 1 Quote

714024SPEED Posted Friday at 03:36 AM Posted Friday at 03:36 AM I have seen black cars with both satin and gloss. I'm not 100% on what is correct may varry where it was built. Here is a picture of my 71 that has the satin blackout. Just to be clear this car is NOT an SS but is a factory black car with original paint, the rockers are satin black so I did this to match. 5 Quote
