Rob Peters Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Hi Jim, Thanks for stepping up to want to do a Mini-Meet. I am sure the officers will approve this and help you with what you need to do. I can also help you with questions you may have. Things like getting a hotel or any question you may have. rob 5 Quote
Dtret Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Something to think about if you want the “ northerners “ to come down. The weather. Although it actually might be ok there will still be a lot of salt on the roads. Just something to consider. Yes we will help any way we can. 2 Quote
DragCat Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 I'd give a mini meet some consideration, of course as usual showing up without a Monte 🤣 Some things to consider as an outsider (never having to plan a meet myself) edited out comments after reading show guidelines on the website regarding trailers 🤣 Ride share also important for those without a Monte, Carlisle and Syracuse were very strict on access tickets. Our members are of course very generous sharing a ride to the showfield when space is available in their Monte. (thanks you guys much appreciated) In closing, as has been said many times before, you DON'T have to bring a Monte to enjoy a club meet. And I think its safe to say once you attend a meet your going to be counting days until the next one 6 Quote
cbolt Posted December 1, 2024 Author Posted December 1, 2024 Mark, part of the registration is 2 walk in passes for all 3 days. That is how they accommodate the folks who park their cars at the show and walk to one of the local hotels. I almost always give my passes away to local friends but in the case of a mini meet and folks like you who want to show up without a car it would be easy just to hand you 1 or both of my walk in passes for free admission to the show field. Its just like sharing a ride, which is also an option. There is ample parking at the Volusia Mall, located right across from the speedway and well within walking distance. Keep in mind this is dependent on interest and if there is none then there is no reason for me to harp on it. I have already secured the club parking, roughly 5 spots but more if needed, now I just need to fill them with fgmcc folks. I will be there regardless. 4 Quote
cbolt Posted January 15 Author Posted January 15 If anyone from the club is planning to bring their car to this event I need a count of how many parking passes, if any, i need to secure asap. As of right now its just me. Not enough actual interest to take this any further at this time. 2 Quote
