Hi, I’m looking for some help. I recently purchased a 1970 Monte Carlo and I’m unable to tell if this is a 02C(February week 3) or 12C(December week 3) build date. Based on the FL2145413 production number would it most likely be February or December? I circled the area on this trim tag photo to help with what I’m trying to figure out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays.IMG_2513.thumb.jpeg.c630faa975611875db40bc3ffd4d346b.jpeg

Does it still have the vin sticker on the driver’s door?  Does it have the original drivetrain? They are all dated. If any dates come after December you should be good. I have a couple 70’s, I’ll check the numbers on them. The body numbers are gm internal and may not be in order.

The blue decal on the driver's door will have the month and year typed on it if you still have that decal.

As mentioned, the engine, trans, rear end all have date codes on them. There are pages here on how to decode those items.

glen,   Arlington   March  212784-221198.    Car is 214541.   But, the car was built in flint which starts with 100,000 and Arlington starts with 200,000 so your question mark is warranted.

I would think that would answer your question Tyler, 02/70 would be Feb of 1970. Your date on the trim tag would be 02C right on the money!!!   If you ask me!!!

You did your homework, and all is good!!!!   Nice Job!!!!

There were no Montes built in the Arlington plant until the '72 model year. None ever built in Atlanta. There were none built in the Leed's plant in KC until the '71 model year. Flint only built them for '70.

To use the chevellestuff production link you have to use the last 6 of your VIN. The VIN is not on the cowl tag.

A Flint car assembled in February of '70 would have a VIN with the last six being anywhere from 113089 to 119181.

Does your VIN fit into that group? With the body being built by Fisher the 3rd week of February, I would think it would be in the February group. A car body built very late in a monthð could have had final assembly in the following month, which is what the VIN can show.

When I ordered my 70 in sept of 69 it was built in Van Nuys because to the strike at the Flint Plant
