ouch Posted March 9 Posted March 9 I installed LS3 427 last week. Everything looked good. Put transmission in yesterday and now have oil pan clearance issues. Previous engine was 350. I am using Tall and Narrow energy suspension motor mounts. Oil pan looks like it just touches frame. I can't go with any shallower oil pan because of stroked crank, so I have to go up with engine. Has anyone had experience with this? I heard that a Chevelle sb 307 had taller frame brackets, but shallower motor mounts. If that is true combining taller brackets with my tall mounts might work. Shimming brackets and or motor mounts is what I was thinking. If there is off the shelf parts I could order that would be my go to. Cutting frame is not an option for me. Experienced input would be greatly appreciated. Will post pics later. TY. Quote
Blackhawk Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Which swap mounts are you using? Which oil pan are you using? Which transmission are you using? The Holley 302-3 looks like it should work with your stroker. I have the F-body oil pan (which should clear a 4" stroke as well) with the 350 frame mounts and flat swap plates with no issues, it looks like the Holley pan gives even more clearance everywhere.
